Should aftershave/perfume be used to treat cold sores?

i heard it works really well and i have been trying everything to get rid of the two most stubborn cold sores anyone has ever come across in the entire history of the universe!! (slight exaggeration but now you see how desperate i am!!!)

i have heard of this before but you might as well just put vodka or gin on it because its the alcohol in perfume that is supposed to dry it out ..... :)Should aftershave/perfume be used to treat cold sores?
DON'T! The moisture balance is not only necessary for healing, but it lessens the chances of a scar forming afterwards. When you get some free time, I highly recommend that you check out this site for more info :)

I have never heard of someone using either one and I have gotten cold sores since I was a little kid. Start taking Lysine supplements (you can find them at any grocery or drug store) and use Campho-Phenique. CP will dry the cold sore out and turn it into a scab so it can begin healing.

You are not alone. I know that with the change in weather suddendly here I see them left and right. Don't be so self concious. It is nothing you have done wrong. It is your bodies reaction, it's normal.


I never, ever, ever heard of aftershave/perfume on cold sores. I don't think I would do it because there are so many different chemicals in there that could cause either infections or problems.


Try something like campho phenique or an over the counter remedy. Actually lysine does hlep. Keep taking it and take extra Vitamin C. Seems to work for me. A lot of times they are a reaction to stress, you went through a lot lot week and they could be a reaction to that.


Give it time and your body will work it out. Stay calm and relax. Please, no more aftershave/perfume!!!
